A quick Google.com search brings up Frederick C. Thomas being in Brantford:
"It was in Brantford in 1874 that Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone: hence the city's popular name, 'Telephone City'. Bell's interest in sound took him to concerts at the Brantford Ladies' College and Conservatory of Music. Chartered in 1874 and thus one of the earliest conservatories in Canada, it was renamed the Brantford Cons in 1900 and affiliated with the University of Western Ontario in 1911. It flourished under the successive principals William Norman Andrews, Frederick C. Thomas, and Arthur G. Merriman until the building's sale in 1935 and then continued in the home of Merriman's widow for a few years. Other schools included the D.L. Wright Academy of Music (1908-20) and the (F.C.) "Brantford Oratorio Society (1917)
The Brantford Oratorio Society was formed in 1917 by W. J. Schofield, organist at First Baptist Church. He conducted the choir until 1919, presenting Handel’s Messiah for the second time, when he handed over the leadership to Dr. Frederick C. Thomas, organist at Grace Church. By 1927, under his direction, the Oratorio Society had presented works such as Mendelssohn’s Hymn of Praise, Handel’s Messiah, Elijah, The Creation, Handel’s Nerbudda, and a concert version of Carmen. Dr. Thomas was also the founder (1923) and conductor of the original Brantford Symphony Orchestra. In 1927, Ralph H. Reville concluded that Dr. Thomas had accomplished more for the cause of music in this city than any other individual." (Brantford’s Rich Choral Tradition, David E. It appears Mr. Thomas is seated wearing graduate robes and is posed looking very distinct with an arm slightly leaning on a table.

Condition: Image is very good. Appears to have been framed with differing colours on the paper. Name is written on with ink.
