- Carte de visite of James MacArthur Weir, the son of Margaret MacArthur and William Weir. He unfortunately died in 1862 at the age of approximately 25 years.
He is pictured here wearing a large bow-tie with a jacket that is fully done-up. His hair is swept back form his face and he has a mustache.
The photo says it was done at J.L. Wilson's studio. If it were done just before James Weir died, it is possible this photo was taken in 1862 (when Wilson started his studio). Otherwise, this may be a reproduction done by Wilson of an older photo - though probably not much older as Weir does appear to be in his 20s. - Notes
- Condition: Fair. Image is clear, but paper and matting are completely yellowed/browned and stained.
