Description
Westover Park was built in 1867 for two brothers, William Veal and Joseph Hutton, prosperous early settlers of St. Marys. It remained in the Hutton family for seven decades; W. V. and Joseph's niece, Mina MacKay, was the last Hutton to live there.

The home has had many different uses over the years. It has been a retreat for young Catholic priests, training to be missionaries and the home in the 1970s to a number of families who were committed to community living. It is currently a luxury inn, attracting many visitors during the Stratford Festival season.

The conservatory wing, an addition to the main house, has been modified and is currently a meeting room with guest rooms on a second floor. The meeting space allows Westover to cater to groups holding seminars or training sessions.

The photograph came from the home of Julia Ford, the daughter of Dr. Adam Ford. Julia and her brother Leon were friends and contemporaries of Mina Hutton MacKay.
