This home was my great grandfather's, William Pulleyblank's, who was a building contractor and Councillor for the Town of St. Mary's. I have photos of the inside of this grand home. Please let me know if you wish for me to send them to you. William and his first wife, Eva (nee Lee), are buried in St. Mary's Cemetery. Their only son, Earl Milton Pulleyblank, was my grandfather and he is buried in Lakeside Cemetery. He was in WW I and was gassed at Vimy Ridge. He recovered and returned home. Earl moved to Windsor to work at the Ford Motor Company in the 1920's. His first wife, Helen Treanor from St. Mary's died from TB. They had a son, Howard William. Earl remarried to his second wife, Corine (nee Beneteau) from River Canard and they resided in Essex, Ontario. Earl owned a flower shop and was a Councillor for the Town of Essex in the 1950's. Their first born son, Robert Earl, was my father. Bob owned a landscape contracting business just outside of Windsor in a small hamlet named Oldcastle. He also was a Councillor and Reeve of the former Township of Sandwich South and became the Warden of Essex County in 1971. I live in Essex and volunteer for many local community charities. We love St. Mary's...the place where the Pulleyblank's settled from Devon, England.
