Description

Photo of the "new" C.P.R. building located in Toronto, Ontario. This building was built between 1911 and 1913 and had been owned by the Canadian Pacific railway company up until the 1980s. When it was built, it was the tallest building in the British Empire at 15 stories - though that was later claimed by the Royal Bank building (which was 20 stories).

This photo comes from a series of 20 photographs dated 1915. Three show the St. Marys Cement Plant while 17 show buildings and bridges (mostly in Toronto) constructed using Rogers Cement. They were in a sales package, and came to us from Ron Laidlaw.

Notes

Condition: Fair. Very tarnished along bottom and bottom corners. Photo is very dark and on abnormally glossy paper that shows how badly the mount has warped the photo.
