Description

Two photos of a parade going down Queen Street provide some details of businesses on the north side of the street between Church and Wellington Streets.

Photo A shows the HMCS Kirkton crew parading down the street. Identifiable businesses include A.H. Lofft & Co. - the sign can be seen above the store with Hammond Fuels located immediately to the west. The Lyric Theatre's protruding marquee is visible but it is not possible to read the name of the current movie.

Photo B shows two majorettes with batons going west on Wellington Street. The Chainway Store sign can be seen as well as the name on the Royal Bank of Canada. Another large sign on a utility post advertises a Ford dealership on Wellington Street North.
