- Description
- Photo of Alice Cruttenden Stoddart. She is posed in front of a draped table with her hand resting on a very decorative painted vase. Her hair is elaborately dressed and her dress is stylish with a bustle and train.
Alice was the youngest daughter of Lauriston and Permelia Cruttenden, early settlers of St. Marys. She was the aunt of violinist Nora Clench.
Alice had a tumultuous marriage to Archibald Stoddart. There were no children.
Alice was a gifted artist and water colourist, trained at a convent in Quebec City. - Notes
- Condition: Good. Seems to be a slight loss of contrast. Yellowed and dirty.
