A marriage certificate between Peter Neff and Maria Durrin. Clockwise starting from top right: Peter Neff a son of Abraham Neff.

Bottom Right: was born the 23 October, 1780 in Yorck County, Pennsylvania.

Bottom Left: his wife Maria Neff is born Durrin. Was born the 13 November 1779,

Top Left: Nordhamthon County Pennsylvania. Married March 31, 1800.

Peter had bellows made for him by Michael Graybiel and his name can be found in the Graybiel Ledger on pages 183, February 28th, 1812 and page 184, March 24, 1812. The February 1812 entry was the first of two very important historic entries in the Ledger for Peter Neff of Stonebridge. On that day he made a large expenditure for "bellows iron". The following March 24th, 1812 entry shows a major cost item: "making bellows", for which Neff was charged 2 pounds, 4 shillings. Therefore by late spring or early summer a Neff Forge would have been in operation at the Stone Bridge, just in time to provide service under the War of 1812. These are also the parents of Abraham Neff of the birth certificate found within the collection.
