- This document, dated July 14, 1814, is a bill of account to Lieut. Leonard of the 104th New Brunswick Regiment in the amount of 0.19.4 from Peter Smith.
Lt. Leonard is believed to be the son of a British loyalist that fled to New Brunswick following the American Revolution.
The 104th Regiment was raised in 1803 in New Brunswick and, during the War of 1812, were sent to Upper Canada where they participated in the battles of Sackets Harbor, Beaver Dams, and Lundy's Lane, the blockade of Fort George, and the assault on Fort Erie.
Peter Smith is believed to be a well known merchant from Kingston. - Date de l'original
