- This letter is from the war office to Lieut. Daniel McDougal regarding his half pay for the Canadian Embodied Militia at Fort George. McDougal participated in the battle of Fort George on March 27, 1813 when it was taken by American troops. He was also severely wounded at Lundy’s Lane on July 25, 1814 when he was struck 7 times but was able to recover from his wounds. Unfortunately, McDougal had health problems and a lead ball stuck in his body for the rest of his life.
