- Description
- This scrapbook contains various newspaper articles relating to both the Canadian and American side of the Niagara River during the War of 1812. It is not clear what newspapers are included. However, it seems that most articles originate approximately from the years of 1860 to 1920s. There are many articles with a variety of themes, which include: General Sheaffe, Fort Niagara, Captain Dennis, Navy Hall, Ferry Boat, Plate of Red Jacket, Queenston Heights, Solomon Vrooman, Col. Scott, Porter House, Fort George, Andrew Doyle, Fanny Doyle (American female hero), St. Marks Church and cemetery, Col. Copeland Radcliffe, E. Whitmore, Chas. Morrison, Eliza Kerr, Johnson and Molly Brant, money donated to build a Presbyterian Church in Newark, James McFarland and St. Saviour’s Church. This scrapbook has a hard black cover and loose binding.
