- This is an oil on canvas painting of Major General Sir Isaac Brock in full uniform astride a brown horse (believed to be named Alfred) exiting the gates of Fort George. There are two natives seated in the right corner. One being female with a papoose in a cradle-board. There are two soldiers mounted that are following behind Brock and a guard standing at attention at the gate. The painting is signed M. E. Stokes, 1908.
The wooden frame is a golden brown colour and is 6.5 cm wide. It has an ornate border that is raised 1cm, a sunken 2.5cm plain border then a 0.5 cm ornate inner border and finally a 1/8 cm plain border. Overall the painting is 95.5.cm x 73 cm and the canvas is 83cm x 60.5 cm. - Date de l'original
