Description
This is a British Officer’s coatee that is double breasted red wool with blue wool on the lapels, stand up collar and cuffs. The buttons are plain and believed to be gilded brass. There are four buttons on each cuff, ten down the front on each side of the breast, and thirteen on the coat tails (some are missing). The jacket is lined with beige cotton and wool in the breast and back locations. There is also an inside pocket on each side of the tails which has a lining of red wool. Along the sides of the tails there is an off-white trim which creates a turned back effect. There is also a scalloped motif on the tails beside the off-white trim and the vent in the back has pleats on each side.

It is believed that this coatee belonged to someone from the Lundy family
