Of the 1000 who left the shores of Canada, many did not return. Their bodies lay were they fell. In the soil of a foreign land. they are the Canadian Cemeteries in France, and Belgium, and elsewhere, where can be seen the little white crosses, "row on row" and the Poppies bedecking the graves in their humble way, as though honoring those who gave their lives for them.
