This item would more appropriately be titled "India Pattern Musket". It is not one of the Land Pattern muskets, having been copied directly from the East India Company's contracted weapons and adopted by the British Board of Ordinance in 1797 [British Military Firearms 1650 - 1859 Howard L. Blackmore]. In 1805 the swan neck cock was replaced with the re-enforced cock. This pattern was replaced in 1810 with the New Land Pattern Musket.

Hi, That is not a Long Land Musket - they were made from early 18th C. to 1770 - your dates are correct but it is an India Pattern Musket. Interesting web site, cheers, Craig
