Description
Built by the Niagara Navigation Company in 1894, the Chippewa was one of the impressive steamers crossing the lake. It was 311 feet long with many luxuries on board including a salon that was 192 feet in length. Shown here passing the dock area, headed upstream on its Niagara, Lewiston, Queenston and Toronto run, the Chippewa retired in 1936 after forty-two years of service.
