TOWN PETS — From 1907 until 1915. the large brick hotel on Thessalon's main street was owned and operated by Thomas Moore and was known as Moorehouse. Those who recall that era will likely remember the pet deer that Mr. Moore befriended.

Penned at the rear of the hotel, they were quite an attraction to the townspeople and visitors alike.

In the picture, a Miss Bellroe is seen feeding the pets which grew to that size from tiny fawns. The mother had been killed.

The hotel today, is known as the Sinton. The name change was made in 1938 when purchased by Sam Sinton.
