The abandoned-looking building near the lakeshore in this photo appears to be Dave Gordon's sawmill (later the Asam Basket Factory) with its smokestack fallen down and buckled over the edge of the roof. The fallen smokestack in this photo fooled my eyes for a while, creating the appearance of a sloping roofline where none exists. Viewing the full-resolution image cleared this up. In both this photo and at lower left in your "Saginaw Salt and Lumber Company" photo, I see a long, relatively flat roof wrapping around one corner of a taller peaked roof. The building is identified in that photo.
