OLA and library practice in 2008 Your opportunity to take part in discussions about the future AT GENEVA PARK in early October, close to sixty elected officers and number of invited guests were asked to participate in a three-day think tank to look at the likely future of libraries and library-trained people ten years from now, and at the type of organization OLA must become if it is to be flexible enough to meet the needs of a radically shifting field. A very different OLA was proposed by participants by the end of the weekend. OLA Presidents June Wilson and Brian Bell capture the spirit of the weekend by giving you the opportunity to participate in some of the activities and to draw your own conclusions about our future. Radical Times Require Radical Solutions: the Future of Libraries and of the OLA replaces the announced Super Session #1101. Dr. George MacDonald will appear at a later date.
