- ONTARIO LIBRARIES AT 2000
THIS PARTY BELONGS TO US !
Welcome to the Ontario Library Association's Super Conference Millennium celebration 'Ontario Libraries at 2000!' Launched at the Association Policy Forum in November, the OLA's year-long Millennium celebration of our contributions to this province will involve everyone in libraries from CEOs to volunteers and pages. Super Conference 2000 is but one step on the way. But, as always, what a step! The librarians of Ontario who are our members know what they are doing and, as a member, you can be proud of their achievement. We in OLA have a lot to celebrate. As an Association, we will later in the year 2000 begin our lOOth birthday party. It was in October 1900 that the decision was made to form the OLA. Last year the OLA returned to strong financial footing, ready to lead us with confidence and daring into a second hundred years. As members, too, we can cheer. We have survived the 20th century a bit battered but dignified and full of accomplishment. A new OLA and a new century promise to bring more of us than ever together to invent, to create and to find solutions to the new conundra that will undoubtedly face us in the decades ahead. We have done our homework and will do more at Super Conference 2000. But, most of all, we can celebrate our past and our future together. Welcome!
