- Description
- On behalf of the OLA Board, the conference planning committee under the leadership of Co-Chairs, Lita Barrie and Richard Reid, along with OLA’s Executive Director, Shelagh Paterson, it is my honour to welcome you to the 2014 Ontario Library Association Super Conference. As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of this amazing conference, we also look to the future as we consider “A Universe of Possibilities.”
Wonder. Learn. Connect. Inspire. Collaborate. Educate. Co-operate. Imagine. Innovate. Create. Transform. Impact. Educate. Interact. Entertain. Empower. These are words that have been used in the Super Conference program the last several years to describe our passion and professional mandate to enrich lives, empower people, and build community through relevant, accessible library service. They are also words used to describe our conference experience.
Developments in the world around us are revolutionizing how people communicate, socialize, learn, and create. This has created a universe of possibilities for continued provision of impactful, vital library and information services. The 2014 Super Conference provides a “tremendous place to think about where we are in history” as we learn about recent innovations and best practices, and consider exciting possibilities for the future.
