- OLA Super Conference 2016: Library Lab: The Idea Incubator. Welcome to OLA's 2016 Super Conference. Every year the conference delivers a stimulating and inspiring experience and this year is no exception. While "library" and "lab" may seem like an incongruous pairing of words, together they spark an array of interesting and endless possibilities. Labs are places where new ideas are generated, hypothesis tested and experimentation encouraged. If this sounds like a library then you are absolutely right! Just as a laboratory incubator can be adjusted to achieve optimal temperatures and atmospheric conditions, so too can the right circumstances in a library nurture curiosity and exploration.
Libraries are melting pots of curiosity, resources and limitless ingenuity. Put it all together and you get an environment that percolates, bubbles and coalesces with ideas and innovation. This year's Super Conference has been designed to showcase and share the expertise of just how engaging and inventive libraries can be. Where new concepts and ideas can be imagined, investigated and developed through partnerships, programs, spaces and resources.

Every year, OLA invites students in the "Digital Tools" Class of Seneca College's Independent Illustration program to enter submissions for the Super Conference design. We are happy to announce Caroline Ruivo is our 2016 Design Competition winner!
