DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THE AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL BOOK CLUB? The Amnesty International Book Club engages readers, libraries and book clubs in reading beyond the book. Our aim is to highlight human rights issues through literature, author interviews, challenging discussion, and rich background on the human rights aspects of popular novels. Become a library partner with our free online book club. Books are chosen 6 times a year by top Canadian authors. You will receive beautifully engaging discussion guides with questions and interesting background information, tips on starting a book club, display posters, bookmarks and more. It's all free! Don't miss our bookshelf of downloadable guides that spark conversations about human rights. BOOK CLUB I signed up at OLA primarily out of personal interest back in January, but was hoping that my Library would also be interested in becoming a partner. I think there's a great opportunity to support this initiative by Amnesty and promote these literary works identified. ~Michael, Librarian Just again to say what a great idea I think the book club is. I live in the UK, my friend in Germany and my grandma (who is also keen to join in) lives in Canada. It's so nice to have an intellectual and interesting way in which we can all communicate and engage, despite the obvious distance! ~Po, Book Club Member
