At its very successful workshops on imple- mentation of the program, there has been enormous interest in student portfolios as a support tool. The portfolios in themselves are a continuing reminder of all the steps and thought processes that students should follow. A CONVENIENT ORGANIZER FOR STUDENTS The portfolios have a fold-up pocket to hold all the materials being used in the research process - assign- ment details, research questions, point-form notes from multiple sources, CD-ROM printouts, interview notes (e-mails, personal, telephone), a list of possible resources, internet addresses and printouts, diskettes of their work, rough drafts, evaluations, reflections. A FORMIDABLE HELP FOR TEACHERS Teachers will find it easier to track student progress and to evaluate the results with student materials all being in one place.
