Attend the 9th Thomas Raddall Symposium, July 9 - 11 The Department of English and Theatre at Acadia University is pleased to announce the 9th Thomas Raddall Symposium. The objective of this symposium is to open up conversations on the relations among peoples and places: children, adolescents, adults, schools, libraries, universities, and publishing houses concerning the full range of books that depict childhood/youth and place in Atlantic Canadian Literature. For further information, please visit the symposium website. An Update on Libraries 2025 Libraries 2025 is designed by the Ontario Library Association, Ontario Library Services - North, Southern Ontario Library Services, the Canadian Urban Libraries Council, and the Federation of Ontario Public Libraries. It was a symposium held to prepare the public library sector to be ready for the future. In April, more than 300 delegates from all across Ontario met to consider the four themes: Community Based Design, Continuous Improvement and Innovation, Telling Our Stories, and Staff Evolution. Access the reading list on the Ontario Library Services - North website. The five coordinating organizations will be working with the public library sector to develop programs, initiatives, and services to ensure our libraries in 2025 are vibrant, relevant and supported! Public Places, Community Spaces: Connecting Nova Scotia's Archives, Libraries and Museums: Call for Proposals The 2015 conference is a milestone event: for the first time ever, Nova Scotia Library Association (NSLA), Library Boards Association of Nova Scotia (LBANS), Association of Nova Scotia Museums (ANSM) and Council of Nova Scotia Archives (CNSA) are partnering for a joint conference bringing together staff, volunteers and trustees from all of these communities! The Program Committee invites you to submit a session proposal for the conference to be held at the Lord Nelson Hotel and Halifax Central Library from September 25-27, 2015 in Halifax. The theme of "Public Places, Community Spaces: Connecting Nova Scotia's Archives, Libraries and Museums" will allow us to explore how libraries, archives and museums can connect and work together to better serve the public. http://www.essentialskillsontario.ca/ http://www.centreforliteracy.qc.ca/ http://english.acadiau.ca/id-9th-raddall-symposia.html http://www.olsn.ca/libraries2025_bibliotheques2025/?id=readings.asp&label=Readings
