Visible Minority Committee, OLA Board of Directors It is crucial to be open to every individual's talent, strengths and capacity as well as identify possible gaps in individual's training/upgrading that might call for continuous professional development by the appropriate library associations, volunteering and any other appropriate opportunities through libraries. This is a call for interest of involvement in establishing a visible minority sub-committee of the OLA Board of Directors. A proposal was presented and discussed at the OLA Board of Directors meeting in September 2015 to consider the creation of a committee that focuses on diversity and inclusion in the library sector. To commence this committee, we need 3-5 volunteer committee members. Members of this committee will communicate electronically as well as meet at least twice a year in person. Members are expected to actively participate in knowledge sharing, discussions and projects; and make a commitment of at least two years.
