The Forest of Reading was awarded the Ontario Library Association President's Award for Exceptional Achievement for outstanding leadership in literacy programming and recognition for years of dedicated volunteerism. Isabelle Hobbs from Durham District School Board and Ruth Gretsinger from District Board of Niagara, the co-chairs of the Forest of Reading, received the award on behalf of the program. The Prix Peuplier and Prix Tamarac chairs, Evy Gambin (Toronto District School Board), Eugenia Doval (Conseil Scolaire Viamonde), Christine Labelle (Upper Grand District School Board), and Diane Quessy (Conseil Scolaire Viamonde - retired), received l'Association des bibliothèques de l'Ontario-Franco (ABO-Franco) Prix Micheline-Persaud for their work in growing the Peuplier and Tamarac programs and in promoting French-language library services in Ontario.
