BUY YOUR TICKET TODAY >> 2018-2019 Call for Nominations: Inscriptions to the Canada Memory of the World Register In collaboration with its Canadian Advisory Committee for Memory of the World, the Canadian Commission for UNESCO (CCUNESCO) is pleased to launch the second Call for Nominations for inscriptions on the Canada Memory of the World Register. This Register recognizes significant documentary heritage related to Canada and its peoples, and is one of the vehicles of the UNESCO Memory of the World Program which aims at preserving and providing access to documentary heritage as the embodiment of the memory of humanity. UNESCO has been designated lead UN agency for the 2019 International Year of Indigenous Languages, which aims to draw attention to the urgent need to raise awareness of Indigenous languages and to support their preservation, maintenance and revitalization. Therefore, the Committee would like to put special emphasis on forthcoming proposals relating to this matter. The Committee also welcomes proposals related to all types of documentary heritage. All individuals, private or public institutions, organizations and communities are invited to consult CCUNESCO's website for more information on this process. Together with Page Two Strategies, eBOUND is conducting research to help Canadian publishers better understand digital content acquisition in Ontario public libraries. The goal of this research is to provide Canadian publishers with a better understanding of the acquisition needs/trends so that they can work more effectively within the various library systems. This work builds on a previous report, which you can access here on their website, that looked at the availability of Canadian titles in print and digital formats in Canadian libraries. They are now working on a second phase of our research, which will explore trends in eBook circulation, genres, and licensing and purchasing models.
