The ride starts at 9 a.m. from Queen Elizabeth Park Secondary School on Yolanda Drive. Called the "Rotary Ride for Shelter," this bike-a-thon differs from the typical event because it stresses involvement rather than competition. In fact, there are no trophies to be won. Instead, people of all ages are encouraged to par- ticipate in this leisurely 25- kilometre ride through a variety of residential areas in the town. Posters are on display in a number of retail outlets, schools and libraries throughout Oakville, and pledge sheets can be obtained at these locations. To get involved, participants just have to ask people to pledge money in support of their ride.
