The winning recipe? 6 lbs of lean ground beef, 4 cups diced onions, 4 garlic cloves crushed, 4 large diced green peppers, 4 28â€"0z. cans of crushed tomaâ€" toes, 4 cans of tomato paste (5 1/2â€"02z.), 8 cans of chili soup or chili style kidney beans, 4 cans of dark kidney beans drained, 1 cup ketchup, 3 tsp chili powder, 2 tsp tobasco sauce (or to taste), 4 tsp Worcestershire sauce (or to taste), 6 tsp salt, 2 tsp cumin, and 2 tsp curry. In a skillet, fry onions, garlic and green peppers, and set aside. Brown beef and drain of fat. Put beef, onions, garlic and green peppers along with the rest of the ingredients in a large pot and let simmer for three to four hours! Yield â€"â€" two gallons of Cactus Chili! The objective of Child Find Day is to inform people about the issue of missing children in Canada and to promote awareness about Child Find Ontario and the free services offered to families of abducted chilâ€" dren. Abduction is a "10â€"letter word that sends chills down a parent‘s spine," says Child Find executive director Jackie Cutmore. t %'4 @ "While you may not think that it can happen to your children, the fact remains that, on any given day, there are approximately 1,200 listâ€" ings of missing children in Canada," continues Cutmore. "Whether runaways or the vicâ€" tims of a parental or stranger abducâ€" tion, parents must take steps to acknowledge and minimize the risk to their children and prevent that risk from becoming a reality." From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. parents and legal guardians can learn about the risk of child abduction and have their children fingerprinted and learn how to streetproof their chilâ€" dren. , Rain or shine, Child Find Day will be a community event which will emphasize child protection.
