Slaney gave Oakville a 6â€"5 lead on his third of the night, assisted by Williams, about six minutes later. The final goal was scored into an empty net by Williams, Kalverda and Raymond. It‘s not often that accolades are handed out to defenâ€" sive specialists. But 18â€"yearâ€"old Michelle Pellerin, a guard on the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders senior girls basketball team, is certainly deserving of recognition for her outstanding defensive play in a 65â€"43 win â€" against T.A. Blakelock in Halton high school playoff action.
