Kuntz said the mission statement deï¬nes what services a hospital pro- vides whereas the value statement deï¬nes how it treats its “customersâ€. He suggested the value statement could be placed in a prominent place in the hospital. He said the hospital accreditation council requires both statements. He continued to pressifor the adoption of a “vaiue statement†which the board also deferred pending medical staï¬â€˜ input. Some board members voice concerns with adopting yet another statement for the hospital when they grappled with a_“missio_n†statement just over a year ago.
