The workshops are designed to provide participants with practical tips on motivation skills, communication skills, working in group dynamics, developing a positive selfâ€"image, and presentation skills. I n response to the need for preâ€"employment training, the Town of In the economic climate of the ©90s, partâ€"time student jobs are at a premium and competition is keen even for entryâ€"level positions. These workshops will help students develop the skills necessary to get an edge on the competition. The single night workshops are ideal for young people planning to apply for jobs at camps and resorts, in the food and hospitality industry, or as public and private leisure providers. All workshops are three hours in length and run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The workshops cost $10 each, or all six for a special price of $50. Each workshop/topic occurs only once. At the end of every workshop, participants will receive an attracâ€" tive certificate of participation, suitable for attaching to a young resumé short on practical work experience. The first workshop is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 17th, at Glen Abbey Recreation Centre. This workshop targets identifying individâ€" ual leadership style and potential, along with basic program planning and evaluation.
