4â€" GOOD NEWS THE OAKVILLE BEAVER September 28, 1994 Kelly offers proactive training ADVERTISING FEATURE elly Services has been proâ€" viding growing businesses with qualified fullâ€"time and partâ€"time personnel since 1951, and have served the needs of Oakville and area businesses for more than two decades. Marianne Gilpin, manager of the Kelly Services office on Dorval Drive in Oakville, says her firm has been "extremely busy" over the past few months. "We‘ve always been the benchâ€" mark for industry activity," she ADVERTISING FEATURE sure sign of economic recovery f A is the fact that more apartment dwellers are deciding to take the plunge and enter the housing market, and homeowners are looking for housâ€" ing that better meets their changing needs. Real estate professionals who do their homework are seeing tremendous sales growth. Such is the case at Countrywide Town Centre Realty, where seasoned owner/managers Allan Bain and Harvey Goodbrand report that gross revenues are up 39 per cent from last year. They purchased an existing franchise at the centrally located Town Centre I shopping plaza and opened Countrywide on December 1st, 1989. "‘The credit for this growth goes to our sales and support staff," Goodbrand says modestly. But happy employees are usually encouraged by flexible managers, and at Countrywide, each salesperson is encouraged to conduct themselves as if they are operating Lhelr own small busiâ€" ness. We enjoy our work, and we strive to build an office that is known for trust, integrity, and service to our clients and customers," he adds. "One of our goals is to see that every agent succeeds." In addition, support staff are on a bonus system, so they can share in the success of the company‘s 30 sales agents, many of whom have become top producers within Countrywide‘s notes. Gilpin attributes this growth to two factors: an increasing number of businesses moving into the area, and a demand for qualified staff by "mediumâ€"sized" companies which have successfully weathered the recession and are in "growth mode." "After the past two years, it‘s a very good feeling," comments Gilpin. "Now, the general feeling out there is one of business and energy." Clients are the top priority at Countrywide Town Centre Realty Harvey Goodbrand Canadian franchise network. "The result is superior service to our clients and customers," Bain agrees. The local franchise‘s top priority continues to be the client. Services include a kiosk at Hopedale Mall, which display‘s Countrywide‘s listings 24 hours a day. In addition, a weekly newsletter called, "Keeping In Touch" goes to all real estate offices and their sales repreâ€" sentatives, making them aware of Countrywide‘s new listings. The publiâ€" cation also supplies such pertinent inforâ€" mation as price reductions, open houses, "and any other news items that help proâ€" mote the needs of our clients and cusâ€" tomers," Goodbrand explains. A new service which began September 1 is a toll free number which provides free telephone access to potenâ€" tial Countrywide customers anywhere in Canada and the United States: 1â€"800â€" (480â€"2982). One of the challenges personnel agencies such as Kelly appear to have these days is finding appliâ€" cants who have the skills required to succeed in today‘s labor market. "Now more than ever, we are finding that the market is ‘appliâ€" cantâ€"tight," so we are actively recruiting every day of the week." In addition, Kelly uses an aggressive training program to keep its talent pool up to date, in order to meet labor market demand for Allan Bain "Our motto is ‘We Believe In Service,‘ and our day to day activities are directed towards satisfying the needs of our clients and customers," Bain says. "We have an abundant range of skills and talents which are perfectly suited to match our customers‘ needs, whether they are buying their first home, or trading in the luxury home range."
