A few days later, his arms and fingers were comâ€" pletely numb, a condition he selfâ€"diagâ€" nosed as carpel tunnel syndrome, one of several conditions that can be lumped under the RSI umbrella. The numbness eventually spread to his shoulders and upper back, then to his mid and lower back. They helped but didn‘t cure his painful condition. At first, self treatment took the form of arm splints, cold packs and pain killers. Later, physiotherapy offered temporary relief.
