Oakville goes to the polls Monday and that means making some hard choices for Oakville and Halton Regional councils as well as the Halton Board of Education and the Separate Board. There are also four people to be elected to the Oakville Board of Hydro Commissioners. The â€" Oakville â€" Trafalgar Memorial Hospital Board of Governors plan to complete their search for a new Chief Executive Officer and President by the end of the year. According to Ward 5 local counâ€" cillor Sean Weir, chair of the search committee, they hope to have comâ€" pleted the search by Dec. 31st which would allow the new CEO to start by March 31st, next year. Hugh Pauwels, the former senior viceâ€"president, has been operating as Acting President and CEO since Sept. 9th after the board asked for the resignation of former OTMH president and CEO Dieter Kuntz. At the October Board of Governors meeting, the cost of completing the search for a new President and CEO was estimated at $35,000. In the latest incident, a group of youths outside the Dairy Queen on Lakeshore Road West climbed on top of cars and the roof of the building on Tuesday night. Following another vandalism incident at a Bronte comâ€" mercial plaza, the Halton Regional Police Service has instiâ€" tuted a zero tolerance policy towards loitering and vandalâ€" ism in the area.
