Competing in the under-16 category, which featured 130 teams from across the country, Durham went undefeated until dropping its final game, 21-25, 25-20, 17-19 to British Columbia 3. The loss particularly stung since the Attack had dominated British Columbia 3 in pool play the first day of the tournament. Still, the second-place finish BARRIE ERSKINE / OAKVILLE BEAVER capped a very successful season for the local girls and the Attack. Durham won the National East championships in Moncton the previous weekend and was victorious at the provincials in April. Vukson was named to the sevenmember all-star team at the western nationals. Dionisio and Vukson are also competing on the Ontario Volleyball Association's beach volleyball circuit this year. Playing as partners for the first time, the girls earned a third-place finish in their opening tournament of the year.
