www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday July 21, 2006 - 17 Farm KIDS program at Bronte Creek Provincial Park Every Tuesday and Thursday in July and August, kids and their parents are invited to join a Park Ranger for Farm KIDS at Bronte Creek Provincial Park. Farm KIDS is designed especially for kids ages 2 and up and encourages exploration and imagination. Kids will discover what animals are found at the Bronte Creek Children's farm, and hands-on activities and games will help them learn about farm animals, plants and the importance of the honey bee. Every Tuesday and Thursday at 1 p.m., a Park Ranger will meet the kids at the Nature Centre, where the hourlong adventure will begin. A tour of the barns will allow Farm KIDS to get a closer look at their favourite farm animals, ask questions and more. "The kids really like the games and the hand-on activities," said Park Ranger Cathy Entwistle. "The program is for kids, but we find that the parents get involved and learn something too." The Farm KIDS program also qualifies as a program for kids to earn their official park ranger card. Farm KIDS is being offered in the Day-Use Area, which is 1 km north of the QEW on Burloak Drive. Daily vehicle permits are $11.89 per vehicle. There are reduced rates for Ontario Seniors and disabled permit holders. There is no additional fee to participate in park programs, and they're available to all park visitors and campers. A complete program schedule is available at the park gates or online at www.BronteCreek.org Spruce Lane Farmhouse is open daily in July and August from 11 a.m. 6 p.m. and the Nature Centre is open from 10 a.m. 6 p.m. For more information on park events, call 905-827-6911, ext. 556 or visit www.BronteCreek.org.
