SPORTSBRIEFS Oakville has swept its first two playoff opponents, Halton Hills and Scarborough, after rolling to a 19-1 record in regular-season play. The third game will be played back in Oakville next Friday, again an 8 p.m. start. 10/under Coyotes sixth at NARCh Despite posting victories against two of the top teams in the North American Roller Hockey Championships, the Oakville Coyotes 10/under AAA team was unable to advance to the playoff round. Oakville began the championships, held at Mississauga's Hershey Centre, with upset wins over Florida Skatezone (1-0) and California AKS Mission (4-3). However, the Coyotes dropped their following two contests, 9-3 to California Tour OC and 7-4 to Florida Rink Rats. Oakville was the lone Canadian squad among the 12-team elite field in 10/under competition, finishing sixth overall. The top five teams in preliminary-round play advanced to the playoffs. Tyler Kitzul led the Coyotes in scoring at the championships, tallying three times. Brenton Chilton and Michael Yeo each scored twice, with singles going to Luke Shiplo, Michael Prapavessis, Hunter Swain and Cole Taylor. Matt Kaslik recorded the shutout against Florida, while Emily Mann also had a strong tournament for the Coyotes in a defensive role.
