Wong will receive $7,500 toward her graduate studies this fall, the Canadian Scholarship Trust Foundation recently announced. Each year the Foundation grants graduate awards to 10 students across the country who have benefited from a Canadian Scholarship Trust Plan RESP (Registered Education Savings Plan) for their undergraduate education and who want to pursue graduate studies. Since its inception more than 20 years ago, the program has granted more than $925,000 in graduate awards to Canadian students. Wong graduated from McMaster University with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Kinesiology and is presently attending the University of Western Ontario for the four-year Medicine program. During her undergraduate studies, Stephanie was an anatomy lab tutor to first year medical students and achieved the Provost's Honour List for two consecutive years. Wong has also volunteered both locally and globally, most notably in Recife, Brazil where she was able to work and interact with children whose lives had been adversely affected by abuse, neglect and poverty. The Foundation aims to improve access to graduate studies and recognize outstanding achievement through the award program.
