www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday September 1, 2006 - 27 Artist explores form and colour Poetry of Form and Colour opens at CJ's Café in Bronte on Sept. 6. The show features the oil paintings of Manon Crevier, a Montreal native who moved to Oakville in 2002. "I find myself exploring forms in nature that are revealed through focused observation and a deep passion for form and design," said Crevier. "Life forces in various shapes and palettes of colour, which awaken something in my soul that speaks to me in the poetry of form and colour. "I love to explore my subject in its most intimate form for all to see," she added, "up close and personal." Crevier began working as a creative writer with some of Montreal's top radio stations before moving on to a job in marketing communications. With a role as artistic director, she got a chance to work alongside some of the best graphic designers in Montreal. In 2000, she was injured in a car accident, which afforded her the time to further explore that creative side. Crevier studied the different mediums with well-known artist Tania Lebedeff in St. Hilaire for three years before moving to Ontario, where she is continuing her formal training at Sheridan College. In 2005, she met and studied with Jennifer Lawton, who greatly influenced and inspired her art. Poetry of Form and Colour will be on display at CJ's Café, 2416 Lakeshore Rd. W., until Oct. 3. The opening reception is Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 6 9 p.m. and Crevier will be in attendance. BAPTIST UNITED PRESBYTERIAN (Dundas Rd. W. & Lions Valley Park Rd.) 905-335-3433 Rev. G.
