At the CAA store's previous Oakville location, at the corner of North Service Road and Dorval Drive which closed Feb. 28, Colburne's work quarters were considerably less comfortable. "It was a nightmare. I made a makeshift office in the back storage room," she said. Colburne feels she can be more effective now that she is up front where the action is. "I can see what's going on. I can quickly see if someone needs help and if they do I jump up and away I go." During a presentation Nick Parks, President and CEO of CAA South Central Ontario, also threw his support behind the new design. "I'd like to congratulate those involved in setting up this new format that we have. I think that it's a vast improvement over the offices that we've had up to date and I think the members are going to really appreciate the new format." Even with a party going on around them CAA employees continued to man their posts dispensing travel information to those partygoers who decided to take the opportunity to update their travel plans. "They're focused on the customer," said Colburne. "We're all about the members."
