The regatta was followed by a fun filled barbecue and dance, with DJ Adam Scott. The OTMH Regatta was presented by BMO Nesbitt Burns. Dr. Michael McCulloch, one of Oakville's long-time and most dedicated family physicians, was this year's recipient of the Dr. E. P. `Soapy' Soanes Award. The E.P. `Soapy' Soanes award was established in recognition of the first Chief of Staff, and longstanding member of the Department of Family Medicine at OakvilleTrafalgar Memorial Hospital. This annual award recognizes a Family Physician at OTMH who has demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the Hospital and Community in the areas of clinical practice, community health, hospital programs, continuing medical education and community involvement. Dr. McCulloch has provided the Oakville community and its hospital with 45 years of compassionate care and service. He had a booming family practice on Church Street in Oakville (which moved to Sheddon Avenue in 1995) and was also very involved with the Oakville Site of the Halton Diabetes Centre as an Educator for over 30 years. Dr. McCulloch is known for his sense of humour, his gentleness and his generosity of time with his patients. Even now that he is retired, Dr. McCulloch's love for medicine continues. The Award was presented to Dr. McCulloch by the daughter of Dr. Soanes, Mrs. Virginia Rogers-Jacobs, and Dr. Jim Kovacs, Chief of the Department of Family Medicine, at Halton Healthcare's Annual Meeting. The Oakville Italian Club and HSBC present the 28th Annual Oakville Italian Golf Tournament on Friday, July 6th. The tournament includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, beat the pro contest, prizes, refreshments and dinner catered by Enrico and Lenny of Niagara Falls at the Glen Abbey Golf Club. Movies in the Park Join us on Friday, August 17th at 6:30 pm at St. Mildred's Lightbourn School, (1080 Linbrook Road, Oakville) for the inaugural "Movies in the Park" fundraiser, featuring a blockbuster family-themed movie, live entertainment, raffle prizes, loot bags, movie snacks and more! (Joy) Parsons Bursary Recipients OTMH Auxiliary Cheque Presentation The Auxiliary to OTMH presented Halton Healthcare Services with a cheque for $250,000 at the Auxiliary's recently held Annual Meeting. OTMH Charity Golf Tournament On Wednesday, August 15, 2007 the 28th Annual OTMH Charity Golf Tournament will be held at Wyldewood Golf Club. The tournament kicks off with a buffet breakfast and shot gun start at 8:00 am and winds up with the 19th hole reception and lunch at 1:30 pm. Registration is $200/person or $800/foursome.
