It has been awarding educational scholarships for more than 30 years. Twenty-four of the students are 2007 Oakville high school graduates and four are university students. The club's main source of funds is The Nearly New Shop at 200 Kerr St. though it also presents the Annual Festival of Trees in Oakville Place at Christmas and Arts and Artisans by the Lake in April at Appleby College. A fundraising dinner will also be held at Tony Roma's in Mississauga on Oct. 11 for the scholarship program.
