Introducing Mags Shorey - Chair Mags Shorey was elected to a two-year term as the Chair of the Oakville Hospital Foundation Board of Directors. Mags is a long time, dedicated member of the Oakville community. Mags has been involved with St. Mildred's - Lightbourn School, Appleby College, the May Court Club of Oakville and Acclaim Health, formerly the VON. Mags has been a member of the Foundation Board since 2000 and is also the Vice Chair of the Halton Healthcare Services Board, which she has been an elected member of since 2004. Mags replaces Dick Freeborough who completed his term in June 2007 and remains on the Board as an Honorary Chair. The OHF Board of Directors welcomes the following new Board members : Georgina Black Georgina Black is the founding Partner of Blackstone Partners, a management consulting firm in Oakville. Georgina has over 15 years of experience consulting to organizations in the areas of strategic planning and organizational effectiveness and is a recent graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors program at Rotman. Georgina was recently recognized for her leadership as an entrepreneur, role model for women and commitment to making a difference in the community as a nominee for the Athena award. She lives in Oakville with her family where she enjoys sailing, golf and cheering on her boys at soccer games. Stephen Sparling Stephen Sparling is the Vice President of Promotion Resource Group Inc., current President of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce, a former Oakville Regional Councillor and a former Board member for Halton Healthcare Services. Stephen lectures on effective fundraising, promotional marketing and networking and is a frequent media contributor on International business in the Promotional sector. Stephen is the father of two and is active in their school, sports and church activities in Oakville. 2007-2008 Halton Healthcare Services Board of Directors Introducing 2007/2008 Board of Directors Chair Mary Davies Vice Chair Mags Shorey Treasurer Marty Hughes President & Secretary John Oliver Mary Davies - Chair Mary Davies, a Milton resident, has been elected Chair of the Board of Directors for Halton Healthcare Services for a two-year term. She joined the Halton Healthcare Services Board of Directors in 2000 and most recently served as Vice-Chair from 2005 to 2007. Mary replaces Murray Paton who completed his term in June 2007 and remains on the Board as Past Chair. Mary established her own health and social services consulting practice in 1998. The practice focuses on assisting agencies and associations strive for excellence through continuous quality improvement initiatives. Mary has a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Toronto. The HHS Board of Directors welcomes the following new Board members: Lorenzo Biondi Lorenzo Biondi is a senior executive and licensed pharmacist with 24 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The Oakville resident currently holds the position of Vice President of Medical and Regulatory Affairs at Hoffmann La-Roche Limited. Lorenzo has experience in the integration and alignment of businesses following mergers and acquisitions and has broad based knowledge of regulations, practices and policies that govern the quality of products, drug safety, clinical studies, advertising and industry healthcare professional interactions. Judy Wilson Judy Wilson is a partner with the firm Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. She is a lawyer and former senior manager with extensive experience in the health sector, municipal sector, infrastructure and public procurement processes. A resident of Oakville, most recently Judy has been engaged in a number of projects with respect to the design, construction and operation, including alternate financing, of hospitals and other public facilities in Ontario. In her career Judy has been an advisor to several levels of government and public sector entities on legislative and policy issues. Kim Mason Kim Mason is the Regional Vice-President, Halton Market, with RBC Financial Group. Kim has extensive experience in retail banking and financial planning. Kim received her Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario in 1989 and was granted a Master of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, in 2005. Kim has been an active member of the Milton District Hospital Foundation Board since 2001, more recently completing a two year term as President of the Board and Chair of the CT Scanner Campaign.
