www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday September 28, 2007 - 25 The Shorey family lives a philosophy of giving S ince moving to Oakville with three young children 30 years ago, the Shoreys have been actively involved in their community. Mags, in particular, has been an active volunteer, serving on the boards of Appleby College, Halton Healthcare Services, The Oakville Hospital Foundation, St. Jude's Church, The May Court Club and VON Halton. The Shoreys were particularly interested in supporting the capital equipment requirements of the Oakville hospital. Mags, as a member of the hospital board, is passionate and enthusiastic about this since the government does not cover the purchase of all the equipment the hospital needs. After looking at several options, The CFO was an obvious `best choice' for this endowment. The CFO provides a highly competent and dedicated board, a highly motivated and hard-working staff, and two investment managers with outstanding long-term track records. As Mags said, "It's great to know The CFO is there to provide effective and efficient stewardship of endowments which is essential for a gift that keeps on giving year after year." Another attraction to The CFO is the analysis and verification work they do in www.tonycrawford.org & .com assessing charitable organizations that require financial support to assist those in need in our community. The Shoreys' support for charitable endowments and giving flows from the belief that they have been very fortunate and there are many people who haven't been as fortunate through no fault of their own. This philosophy flows from previous generations and they hope that their children will continue this tradition.
