They are raising three children and Jeremy owns The Pottery Supply House on Speers Road. It all started with Alix's friend Dziedzic and some worn out sofas in a community centre/daycare in the isolated Inuit community of Sanikiluaq. Dziedzic was asked to go to Sanikiluaq to teach an upholstery course. With a grant from the Nunavut government, which the community of Sanikiluaq has secured (designed for entrepreneurial start up programs), Dziedzic will be teaching a two-week upholstery course to eight people in February 2008 in Sanikiluaq. "I suggested to Wayne that we could fill any spaces left in his large shipping crates with children's books and other items that the children of Sanikiluaq might need," explained Alix. That was early September 2007 and Dziedzic was just starting to arrange for the purchase of two high quality, used, commercial sewing machines, fabric and other upholstery items that would be needed for his program. Dziedzic also had to arrange for all of the shipping of his cargo. To get to the remote community his materials need to be packed in wood crates, which he has made himself from scrap lumber, trucked to Quebec, and flown by cargo plane to Sanikiluaq.
