Police search for thief Halton Regional Police are investigating a recent purse snatching in Oakville. Shortly after 9 p.m. on Friday, May 9, a woman was in the parking lot of Hopedale Mall in front of the Dominion grocery store when her purse was grabbed by an unknown male. A brief struggle ensued, however the suspect quickly overpowered the victim. The suspect fled the area with the purse and was last seen running eastbound near Rebecca Street. The suspect is described as a white male, 30 to 40 years old, 5-foot-10, with a thin build and dark hair. He was wearing a black leather jacket and beige pants.
