Among the club's accomplishments this past season were 256 new club records, a fifth-place finish at the Division One Team Championships, an eighth-place showing in the provincials (and Small Team Award victory), and an 11th-place outing at the national age group championships (sixth overall in the women's division). Dolphins swimmers set six national age group records and 14 provincial records. The club boasted an Olympian, Colin Russell, with athletes on both the senior and junior national teams. Oakville MP Bonnie Brown attended the picnic to present an award to Russell in recognition of his fine year. Russell and the Canadian team finished fifth in the 4x200-metre freestyle relay at the Olympics, and sixth in the 4x100m. Minor bantam A Rangers win Richmond Hill Early Bird tourney Not allowing more than two goals in any of their five games, the Oakville minor bantam A Rangers went undefeated to win the championship at the Richmond Hill Stars Early Bird Tournament earlier this month. Oakville blanked the Stouffville Clippers 2-0 in the tournament final, following a 6-1 whipping of the Richmond Hill Stars in the semifinal. In round-robin play, the Rangers defeated Richmond Hill 4-1, Agincourt Canadiens 5-2 and Willowdale Blackhawks 7-0. "The boys are to be congratulated for their teamwork and unselfish play," said Rangers head coach Lane Bailey. "The team chemistry is also starting to show on the ice and in the dressing room." Members of the squad are Connor Baigrie, Jamie Bailey, Daniel Bingham, Matthew Caccamo, Mackenzie Connor, Nicholas LaBrosse, Josh Lacey-Rogers, Matthew Little, Craig MacQueen, Greg Palumbo, Tony Palumbo, Aidan Pelino, Chris Sayers, Joseph Sestito, Peter Skynner, Connor Stack and David Watson.
