Lions go bowling Raiders, Eagles on roll in boys' H.S. hockey The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders have enjoyed a strong start to the high school boys' hockey season, winning three of their first four games. Josh Ruys continued his early-season scoring tear with a pair of goals in a 7-0 win over the E.C. Drury Spartans Monday, his seventh and eighth markers of the year. Zack Ruys, Brad Gilles, Colin Barette, Eric Crepinsek and Tyler Vaddachino also tallied for Aquinas. In the Raiders' previous game, the Ruys brothers provided all the offence in a 4-3 win over the Loyola Hawks. Josh recorded a hat trick and Zack netted the game winner for Aquinas, while goaltender Justin Bailey preserved the victory with several clutch saves in the late going. Aquinas will face the T.A. Andrew Smith and Aaron Heffelfinger had Abbey Park's goals Monday, with Glen MacDonald and Joel Selinger replying for Ridge. Ben McIvor, Adam Davis, Jordan Smith and Jon Kilpatrick scored against Milton, with McIvor and Kilpatrick finding the net versus Blakelock. Mike Burwell earned the shutout against the Tigers.
